Backing Tracks

A slow groove in the key of E Minor, essentially based around a one-note pedal bass line, but outlining the chords of E Minor, C and A5 in the heavier section. You can solo over this track using the scales of E Minor Pentatonic, E Blues and E Minor (or E Aeolian).

A slow ballad in the key of G Major, featuring the chords of G, C, D and E minor. You can solo over this track using the scales of G Major (or G Ionian) and G Major Pentatonic.

A simple rock backing track featuring the power chords of A5, G5 & C5. You can solo over this track using the follwing scales: A minor Pentatonic, A Blues, A Dorian & A Aeolian (or A Natural Minor). You can also experiment with the use of A Major Pentatonic, but this may clash with the minor tonality of the C5 Power chord, so trust your ears if you happen to play anything that clashes.

A rock backing track in the key of E. The chords featured are E5, A5, D5 and G5, so it’s possible to mix major and minor scales in most cases. The scales you can use to solo over this track include: E Minor Pentatonic, E Blues, E Major Pentatonic, E Dorian & E Mixolydian, although you should trust your ears if you happen to play anything that clashes.
