Christmas Freebies From FretHub
Hi everyone,
Bobby here. Hope you’ve had a great few weeks and are looking forward to Christmas.
Like the old bearded fella (and I’m referring to Santa Claus, not ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons), I come bearing gifts! Yes, we’ve added a brand new and 100% FREE “Learn To Play Pink Floyd” guitar lesson to our Songs page. This time, it’s the classic Shine On You Crazy Diamond, or to give it its full title, Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1 to 5.
It’s a curious title and to add to the confusion, this video is part 1 of 2, so effectively, it’s “Part 1 of Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1 to 5”. Got that? Good!
This first guitar tuition video covers a note-for-note transcription of David Gilmour’s beautiful and soulful opening solo, plus a breakdown of the iconic 4-note riff. You know, the one that goes “Bing-bing, bing biiing”? No? Well, if in doubt, you can check out the video here.
Speaking of Pink Floyd (as I so often do), I’m finally back from my 56 date European tour with Brit Floyd. I say “Back”, but we’re actually off to Lebanon in a couple of days to play our annual show for the lovely people of Beirut. However, the long European leg is over and we all had a blast!
I think I was in France the last time I wrote a FretHub blog. However, after leaving France, the tour moved into Spain and Portugal. The crowds were fantastic at every gig. Check out the picture at the bottom of this page, taken during our sold out gig in Lisbon. What an audience! Thanks to everybody that made it out to a show.
Back to FretHub news now: Once again, we’ve had a great deal of new members join FretHub.com over the past few weeks, so, on behalf of Nick and myself, I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to you all. We hope our video lessons help you become the guitar player you’ve always wanted to be. In addition to FretHub’s homepage, you can also follow us on Twitter and ‘Like’ our Facebook page.
While I’m not at liberty to reveal details of FretHub’s plans for the New Year, I just wanted to sign off by letting you know we have some great surprises in store for 2013, so stay tuned. Until next time, have a fantastic Christmas and thank you for continuing to learn guitar online with FretHub.
All the best,
Bobby and Nick
