Happy New Year From FretHub
Hi everyone,
Bobby here. Happy New Year! Is it still okay to say that? I’ve never really known the appropriate cut off point! Either way, both Nick and I hope you had a great 2012 and wish you an even better start to 2013.
It’s hard to believe, but FretHub is now a little over a year old – and what a year it’s been! We launched the site back in December 2011 with 300 video lessons that we had amassed since the site’s inception in February 2010. Yep…that’s how long it can take to put together a website of this nature! In recent months, we’ve added countless more hours of valuable tuition to the site and we now have over 350 online guitar lessons to help you become the musician you’ve always wanted to be.
December 2012 saw a record number of new members join FretHub. So, on behalf of Nick and myself, I’d once again like to extend a very warm welcome to you all and also to give a huge thanks to our existing loyal members. We greatly value your support and are extremely proud to have you all onboard.
On a side note, don’t forget, in addition to FretHub’s homepage, you can also follow us on Twitter and ‘Like’ our Facebook page.
Over the past few weeks, due to popular demand, we’ve been uploading some FREE Pink Floyd lessons to the site, hosted on our YouTube page. In keeping with the series, we’ve added yet another video in which Nick shows you how to play the classic “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” from Pink Floyd’s amazing “Wish You Were Here” album. The video (which is the actually the second in a 2-part series) can be found here. Once again, this lesson is free to non-members.
In other news, it occurred to me last week that I played no less than 152 gigs in 26 countries throughout 2012 with Brit Floyd and The Classic Rock Show. Feeling very pleased with myself upon realising this, I informed Nick, who promptly saw my 152 gigs and raised me a staggering 414! That’s right – Nick played a very impressive 414 shows last year in the hit West End show, Rock Of Ages!
While we’re on the subject of Nick’s show, this week, Rock Of Ages is saying goodbye to its long residency at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre. From next week, the entire production will be relocating to the nearby Garrick Theatre where it will continue its run as one of the West End’s most successful musicals.
This coming weekend, I will be heading off on tour yet again. I know it must seem like I’m forever on tour, but there’s a very good reason for that: I AM forever on tour! I’ve been home for a couple of weeks following Brit Floyd’s HUGE European tour, but this time around I’ll be hitting the road with The Classic Rock Show, as we embark on our third annual tour of the UK. You can check out the dates here. Hopefully we’ll see you in the crowd!
Back to FretHub news once again. I just wanted to wrap things up by letting you know that we have some very big things planned for FretHub in 2013, both in the very near future and throughout the year. We know how much you all like surprises, so we won’t reveal too much at this point, but we’re quietly confident you’ll enjoy all we have to offer.
Have a great January and thanks, once again, for continuing to learn guitar online with FretHub.
All the best,
Bobby and Nick
