“Home. Home again…”
Hi all,
Bobby here.
Well, it’s been a while since our last blog post, but there’s a very valid reason for the delay. Both Nick and myself have been doing some seriously hardcore touring.
Nick returned last month from a long European tour, playing guitar with Queen Extravaganza. This fantastically authentic tribute to the mighty rock champions was actually put together by Queen’s Roger Taylor, so it’s a close to the real thing as you’re ever going to hear. Nick is a perfect choice to fill the legendary Brian May’s shoes, since he and I met when we were chosen as guitarists for the hit musical We Will Rock You several years ago.
I returned last week from a 4 month long, 76-date tour of the USA and Canada with Brit Floyd. I’m no stranger to long tours, but this was my biggest outing yet. It was hard work, but enjoyable and it was great to play Red Rocks, Colorado (pictured below) for a third time, as well as Centre Bell, Montreal, The Greek Theater in Los Angeles and many other fantastic venues.
This tour was also my first using the Axe FX II from Fractal Audio. My live touring rig is in its third incarnation and I feel I’ve finally nailed my tone with the Axe FX. I just can’t praise or recommend it enough. Who needs valves?
So, anyway… Nick and I are both back home in sunny Brighton and we’re raring to take “The Thub” to the next level!
Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to all our new members and also to thank our long-time, loyal FretHubbers for their continuing support. Don’t forget, in addition to FretHub’s homepage, you can also follow us on Twitter and ‘Like’ our Facebook page.
I just wanted to wrap things up by letting you know that we have some very big things planned for FretHub this year. We intend to start filming a wealth of new content over the summer months and we’re quietly confident you’ll enjoy all we have to offer.
Have a great week and thanks, once again, for continuing to learn guitar online with FretHub.
All the best,
Bobby & Nick.
